A short poem for the laundry room

Clean laundry is a wonderful thing,
But before you make the dryer sing,
Be sure to check the filter for lint.
(So that we may avoid a more flammable bent)

A Poem for Board Preparation

"Studying"

The taste of hard work
is coffee on my tongue:
rich, bitter, sweet.

It is long days
and early mornings.
It is practice
and repeat.
It is progress,
made one day at a time
by inches.
It is solitude in parallel.

And when the work is done,
it is success and celebration.

Day 25's prompt- A ballad

A poem of gratitude
(For C.S. Lewis)

You wrote the words that speak my youth
In gold and green and love.
You early on engrafted Truth
Upon my green heart's grove.

And now with ev'ry beat I hear
The Lion's lovely roar.
It beckons and it draws me near
To reach, to touch that door.

To enter through the wardrobe grand
That first taught me to see
The magical and sacred land
That's now so dear to me.

You whispered first among my dreams
The song of life made new,
But into life it flowed like streams
And put down roots and grew.
